Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I connect my headphones to UA Record?

To set up and enjoy all the features of your UA Sport Wireless Heart Rate, you’ll need to connect it to your phone using the UA Record™ mobile app. Select the UA Sync icon in the upper right hand corner of the dashboard. Tap on “UA Sport Wireless Heart Rate”. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setup. Once connected, the headphones will live under My Apps and Devices. Here, you can access your headphones' settings to check your battery level, current heart rate, and help.

Q: How do I use my headphones with Record?

Connect your headphones and start a workout using UA Record's heart rate zone tracking. Track your current heart rate zone so you know when to rest or power up, while also viewing your total heart rate distribution throughout each training session. Know your current, average, and peak heart rate. You also have the option to hear your stats read aloud during a workout. With UA Record, you can customize what feedback you hear by setting your stats, frequency, voice, and volume.

Q: Where does the data collected from my headphones go?

All of the data collected by the UA Sport Wireless Heart Rate is stored in the UA Record mobile app, which is part of the Under Armour Connected Fitness platform. The UA Record mobile app is available now for download on the Apple App Store or from the Google Play Store. As part of the Under Armour Connected Fitness family of apps, your workout information can also sync to UA MapMyRun.

Q: Can I connect the headphones to my UA Band?

Yes, once you've added your UA Sport Wireless Heart Rate to the UA Record mobile app any workout started on your UA Band will automatically connect to the headphones if powered on and present. The Band will indicate the heart rate sensor is connected and begin showing your heart rate zones using the color LED on the side of the Band.

Q: How do I connect my headphones to apps other than UA Record?

Your headphones can be used with other leading fitness apps, such as MapMyRun, that support Bluetooth heart rate sensors. To enjoy your headphones with other apps ensure they are first turned on. Press and hold the center button on the inline microphone located below the right earpiece. It helps to have one of the ear inserts in your ear to listen to the audible voice prompts. If this is your first time using the headphones, the headphones will automatically go into search mode. You will hear the audible voice stating, “power on” followed by “looking for device”. You will see the LED light alternate between red and blue as it searches for the device. This light is located at the bottom of the inline mic. Make sure your device that you are attempting to connect to is in search mode. Within a few seconds the UA|HR Audio followed by a 6 digit code should appear on your discoverable devices. Once connected, you will hear the audible voice state, “audio connected.” When the headphones are connected, the LED light will display a blinking blue light. Now open your workout app that supports Bluetooth heart rate sensors and follow that app's process for pairing a heart rate device. Your headphones will appear as UA|JBL HR followed by a 6 digit code.
