I really like the valsetz shoe, as it's early days with it, I haven't given it full Mark's for comfort and performance, but after a couple of walks they have felt good. The tread is nice, not too aggressive, but gives good grip, even on damp grass.
I like the fact it is almost sock like to put on with the one piece upper, no separate tongue. It feels secure and could possibly be worn without laces, this leads me to my only little grip, the weird lace system, am I missing something, a guide to using the extra loops etc would be nice, as it looks odd laced up and tied in a standard way.
They should be good for a normal summer of walks, but we will see.
These are really comfortable and supportive walking/trekking shoes, and a bargain price. I’m normally a UK 9, but I got a UK 10 just to make sure there was plenty of room, they fit just right. They’re a wee bit tricky to slip on as they fit like a glove. A shoe horn would be handy.
I've worn a few different under underarmour boots from the lower end 100 dollar ones to the over 200 dollar ones with the vibram soles( which were the best boots I've had in years). So I figured I'd try a trail runner style that seemed a mix of hiker and runner. I couldn't have been happier with the fit and style of these. The solid peice toung and neoprene style material makes sliding into and out of super nice and fairly easy while not making for a lose fit or sloppy floppy shoe. The shoes break in nicely, aren't to hot but due lack a bit of breathability. So far they have held up very well for having worked in them of a few weeks while also wearing them hiking and training. A great overall shoe.
Had to return due to size chart on website being considerably off. Measured my foot as instructed but when shoe arrived I couldn't fit half my foot in it. Will never buy shoes online again. Return process was smooth and trouble free.
In terms of positives about them, they are tight to get into but they are really comfortable and have found them nice to walk in generally, I wear them when walking the dog or going for a walk, through forests, along roads/pavements etc. One thing I was concerned about and proved correct though is they don't provide a lot of protection against the rain/puddles, as my feet have got wet more than once. Haven't found them particularly 'grippy' from day one though, and have slipped more than I remember with other shoes. The biggest drawback I have found though is they are really not durable. After wearing them for a little over two months (approx 70 days), approx average of 3 miles a day, the tread has worn down really (really) quickly, and is no longer there in some places. Customer service have advised me this is standard wear and tear so nothing they are prepared to do. Thankfully I paid less than half full price with an offer last December, but a lesson learned and I will stick to other brands that have typically lasted me at least 9 months.
I THOUGHT THEY LOOKED COOL AND THEY ARE SOOOO COMFY. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
First, they look cool, but try getting your foot in!! After the wrestling match you are rewarded with great comfort! Not sure if I want this challenge daily!
